Thanks to volunteers Stan Sheppard, Graeme Lakin and Lynnette Lakin for helping pack today….the boxes looked amazing, with many “baby” vegies being delivered today.
Below are a couple of simple recipes I have altered to use the baby produce this week, and the risotto recipe is our families favourite, passed on from a very good French friend staying in the summer holidays…ENJOY!

What’s on at the Co-op…..

Steaming porridge on these frosty mornings…….

Our family love porridge for breakfast with all the toppings! By this I mean dried apricots, leatherwood honey, cinnamon, stewed fruit, maple syrup and chia seeds. We soak the oats overnight with the chia seeds, then put all the toppings in the middle of our dining room table to add to our bowls whilst we lazily get out of our cosy beds……warming and a healthy start to the day, … read more....

What’s in the box/bag…….

I was inspired by Stephanie Alexander’s cooking bible, “Kitchen garden companion” for this weeks BROCCOLI recipe ideas:
  • Cooking Broccoli: Broccoli is frequently badly cooked. Separate florets with a knife, peel the chunky stems (once peeled are as tender as asparagus!), and cut into managaeble pieces. Cook them briefly and uncovered in a large saucepan in plenty of simmering salted water. Always make sure the serving dish is pre warmed as brocolli loses it’s heat fast.
